The seafaring soul of Seville

It has often been said that Seville has a river that wanted to be the sea. It is true, the Guadalquivir is a navigable river, and from Seville you have access to the sea; Triana is «seafaring», and we have magnificent fishing ports very close, on the coasts of Cadiz and Huelva. The result: in Seville you will eat exquisite fish.

The wonderful fryers

Of course, the options for you to enjoy the best fish are many and good in all cases. But there is one type of establishment, very popular, that offers delicious fried fish: fried fish restaurants.

We could say that fried fish restaurants are like fast food places in Seville of the highest quality, delicacies from the sea in a very fresh and casual format. Always served in paper cartridges, these assortments are ideal for sharing. Boquerones (anchovies), hake, codfish, roe, sorrels or cuttlefish are some of the specialties you will find in these temples of fried fish.

Mediterranean diet as well as the Atlantic diet

These delicacies can be enjoyed all year round in Seville, but it is in spring and summer, and especially at night, when we Sevillians most like to buy cartridges in the fry shops. Good gastronomic habits, no doubt: rich and healthy. Fortunately, fish is an essential product in our diet.

The magic potion of adobo

And of all these specialties, adobo is perhaps the star. Present in many other bar and restaurant menus, it is an emblem of Sevillian seafood cuisine.

Normally the most commonly marinated fish is the dogfish (a kind of small shark), but you can also enjoy, for example, grouper or marinated anchovies.

And really words are superfluous, we could almost propose a route of marinade following that irresistible aroma slightly spicy that floods the streets of Seville.
