MUSEUM, ATTRACTION, UNIQUE PLACES

The second largest art gallery in Spain

The Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla has one of the most valuable pictorial collections in the country. It is considered the second most important after the Prado Museum, and among the paintings that you can not miss are the great works of the masters of the Baroque.

A 17th century building, home of the Museum

The Museum of Fine Arts is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood that, unsurprisingly, has taken its name: the neighborhood of the Museum.

The building that houses the museum is the former Convent of La Merced, a 17th century building that is considered one of the best examples of Andalusian mannerism. Its courtyards, rooms and even a church provide a magnificent context for the museum collection it houses.

Outside, there is an elegant square dominated by a statue dedicated to the painter Murillo.

Murillo's work

Bartolomé Esteban Murillo is one of the most universal painters of Seville. In the Museum of Fine Arts you will know like in no other place the dimension of this artist and the quality of his best works.
