Sevilla has an extensive bike lane that stretches for 180 kilometers. For this reason, the city is among the best European cities for cyclists. For lovers of wheels, this is a paradise that also runs along the main monuments, such as La Torre de Oro or the Cathedral. Although its very name gives clues as to who it is aimed at, it is also popular among fans of inline skates. This is, without a doubt, an original and stimulating way to enjoy Seville’s scenery. If you wish, you can practice it on your own or, also, there are several groups that convene meetings on certain days of the week for group routes.

The skatepark of Plaza de Armas is always full of lovers of this sport. It is located in an enviable enclave, on the banks of the Guadalquivir River. The enclosure is divided into two parts, one of them with lights for the night, which allows you to enjoy when the sun goes down. It has all the requirements to go crazy on the board: stairs with square bars and on its sides hubbas, quarters, a pyramid and a drawer at two levels. It is suitable for a medium-advanced level, but if you want to get started, several schools offer their services.

Moving on water

It is undoubtedly the fashionable sport and also has its place in Seville. The calm waters of the Guadalquivir and its large size make this one of the best places in the world for water sports such as rowing, canoeing and paddle surfing. If you have material, you can join from any of the available piers, but if you finally did not find space in the suitcase, there are several companies that are responsible for providing the necessary to enjoy it and, if you wish, classes are also taught to the initiated.

Climbing the walls

You may already know the Triana Bridge, built between 1845 and 1852 by French engineers Gustave Steinacher and Ferdinand Bennetot, for its architectural beauty. But few know that, in addition, in one of its arches, urban climbing is practiced. Its walls, formed by ashlars of sandstone rock from the quarries of Carmona, have been a meeting point for climbers since 1990. It should be noted that it is aimed at professionals, since it does not have the pertinent safety measures. On the other hand, another popular enclave is located on one of the sides of the Alamillo Bridge. This is larger and better conditioned, so it is common the influx of lovers of the activity.

Challenging the wind

The Alamillo Park is one of the lungs of Seville with its more than 140 hectares of green area and beautiful lakes. Cultural, leisure and sports activities take place there. One of these practices is wakeboarding, which consists of moving on a board driven by a boat attached to a long cable. This is one of the sports that generates more adrenaline and that, in addition, by its situation, serves to free oneself from the heat that plagues the city during the summer months. It can be done as a family, since children, from five years old, can participate.
