Murillo Gardens

The Jardines de Murillo are the result of a transfer in 1911 of the Huerta del Retiro del Alcázar.

One of the most classic corners of Seville.

The final design is the work of the architect Juan Talavera y Heredia. They present a composition based on grid paths formed by hedges and pavements that, in their encounters, create octagonal traffic circles in which central fountains and tile-covered benches are arranged. The resulting flowerbeds are occupied by dense masses of vegetation that give the enclosure an intimate atmosphere. The gardens end in the Plaza de Refinadores, presided over by a statue dedicated to Don Juan Tenorio.
