"Amalgama": where flamenco engages with art and memory in Seville

The Seville Flamenco Biennial has launched the «Amalgama» cycle, a series of events taking place from April 1 to November 20, 2025, at the Real Fábrica de Artillería.

Fusion

This cycle aims to blend different generations and artistic disciplines within the realm of flamenco, fostering dialogue among singers, dancers, guitarists, photographers, filmmakers, writers, and journalists.

The opening event, titled «Roots and Wings: The Cante,» featured singers Carmen Linares and Arcángel, accompanied by journalist José Yélamo. During this gathering, the roots of flamenco singing and its contemporary evolution were explored.

Programming

The «Amalgama» program includes two monthly events, divided into two phases: the first from April to June and the second from September to November. Upcoming events include:

  • «Words of Dancers» on April 23, with dancers Pepa Montes and Ana Morales, alongside journalist Marta Carrasco.
  • «Cante According to Lebrija» on May 14, with singers Manuel de Paula and José Valencia, moderated by Tere Peña.
  • «Grace and Dance» on June 11, featuring dancers Carrete de Málaga and Farruquito, joined by journalist and writer Julio Muñoz.

Cultural Offering

This cycle reflects the Seville Flamenco Biennial’s commitment to enriching and diversifying the city’s cultural landscape, promoting interaction between various forms of artistic expression and highlighting flamenco’s significance in today’s cultural scene.
