Church of the Divine Savior
Baroque Splendor
Stripped of its parochial rank after the last restoration works, it currently functions as a free-standing church, within the parochial jurisdiction of San Isidoro. In its courtyard can be seen traces of Roman and Visigothic times.
The building was erected on the site of the church.
The building was erected on the remains of Ibn Adabbas, Great Mosque of the Muslim Seville (ninth century); this religious temple, as well as its surroundings, boasted great importance even in the daily development of the people, so when the Christians conquered Seville, initially allowed its use as a mosque, but in the year 1340 was converted into the parish of the Savior. In addition, it was agreed to maintain the rank held as the second temple of the city; for this purpose it was granted the character of collegiate church. Thus this building would sustain a religious use until the year 1671, when the passage of time managed to write on her a strong deterioration.

Its construction as we see it today began in 1674 with the architect Esteban Garcia, ending in 1712 by the architect Leonardo de Figueroa. Later it would again be subjected to a thorough restoration work that was completed in early 2008 giving back to the temple all its splendor.
